How Affirmations Change your Life

Bit by bit

Wikipedia: Affirmation, a declaration that something is true

Our Brain Believes

what we tell it

By now, we know that thanks to neuroplasticity (the flexible nature of the conscious mind), we can virtually train our brain to do anything. There are countless examples of how people consciously create things like:

health or illness

Dr Joe Dispenza heals his broken back through thought alone. My dad did the same after a tractor crushed him when a river bank gave way.

new cleverness

Dr Caroline Leaf helped a young girl to teach her brain to be “normal” after a car accident tore a chunk out of her brain, leaving her hopelessly retarded both mentally and physically. If you see her now, you wouldn’t guess that she’s missing half her brain!

new stupidity

New grey matter in our frontal lobes: the Tibetan monks have a far higher density of grey matter due to meditation practices.

ruined brains

As a result of negativity and addictions.

death by belief

In some cultures when someone of credibility places a curse on another, the curse is manifested, defying logic. For example, nine people died of King Tut’s curse!

Sounds like miracles, right? Well, its pure science of habit.

What is a Belief?

The solid rock upon which we build our lives

It fuels our values and our decisions.
It creates our reality.
Its our truth.
And boy, do we hang onto them.

Yet, a belief is simply something that we have chosen to wire into our minds. Dr Joe Dispenza says that it is simply a thought we have had over and over again. If we string together a series of attitudes, we create beliefs. Later these become subconscious, such is the extent of how hard wired they are.

It’s fascinating how we talk ourselves into and out of things that could have become our reality either way. Add emotion to the idea and we think we have discovered wisdom.
And here’s the rub: some of the things we believe are just figments of our imagination. Of all the things we could choose, many of us choose bad, sad and mad thoughts.

The Big Idea

So here it is

If the above is true: what could we train out brains to believe? What are the possibilities?

Could we believe that we are super good at things? Like relationships, managing and attracting abundance, creating anything we set our hearts to, being a mom, artistic things… Go into that shop and choose a massive basket of anything you like. Could we believe we can do this?

Create an affirmation that you say over and over and over with such love and gratitude. Never believe that it can’t come true for you.
